Adult and Community Services Department

Adult Care Services

The Head of Adult Care Services is responsible for our provision of high quality services for adults and older people with care and support needs.

Adult Care Services provide a wide range of specialist services which aim to promote independence and choice and meet the changing needs and aspirations of Barking and Dagenham residents. Many of the services are subject to external regulation and inspection by a number of external bodies including the Commission for Social Care Inspection and have to reach and maintain quality standards.

We are proud of the services we provide, we value the people who provide services, and we work to promote the interests of the people who use services.

We have direct responsibility for:

Regulated Care Services for older people and vulnerable adults

Day opportunities for disabled people

Housing support

Transitions

Most people will access our services following a specialist assessment by one of the assessment and care management teams. You can contact the Adult Intake and Access Team direct or you can be referred by your GP, the Customer Services Department, your Carer, or someone else who is concerned about your welfare.
