Leisure and Arts

The main responsibilities of the Leisure and Arts Division are:

Events, Play and Tourism

Our Events Section will continue to organise large borough events whilst working with residents to advise on organising community events. Children's play will form a large part of this area encompassing a new play strategy for the borough.

Parks and Countryside|

We are responsible for looking after and maintaining the borough's parks and countryside.

Parks and Leisure Development|

We are responsible for the continuous development and improvement of our boroughs parks and leisure facilities.

Arts Programme and Cultural Development|

We are responsible for delivery of a wide range of arts activities in accordance with priorities of the borough's Arts Strategy, which were identified by the public living in Barking and Dagenham.

Departmental structure

The Leisure and Arts Division is led by the Head of Service who is supported by 4 groups managers, each responsible for different activities.
