Partnership
The East London Housing Partnership is the alliance between the 8 East London Local Authorities and East London Registered Social Landlords to increase the quality and availability of housing in East London.
It was set up in 2002 so that Local Authorities could work together to deliver more affordable homes. In recognition of this, the Housing Corporation stated that 'problems of high housing demand and limited supply cannot be resolved within Borough boundaries'.
East London Housing Partnership now has projects to reduce overcrowding, under occupation and homelessness in East London. In addition, funding decisions for new affordable homes are now made in line with priorities identified at a sub-regional level, with an agreement that a proportion of lettings to properties funded by the HCA will be made according to need based on a sub-regional rather than Borough level.
