What is Aspirations?
Aspirations is a personal learning programme devised to meet your future aims whether that is to gain employment, to increase your qualifications or to improve your job prospects. The programme will put you on the right pathway towards your chosen future goals.
What is the entry criteria?
As this is a personalised programme, the entry criteria for each element that you choose will apply, therefore this will depend on your personal goals and what you want to achieve. You may take an initial assessment which will guide you in which elements you would like to choose or focus on.
What kind of subjects can I do?
There are many subjects on offer English, Maths, Child Care, Health and Social Care, Sugar craft, Interior Design, Beauty Therapy, ICT, iMedia, Accounts, Bookkeeping, Customer Services, Business Administration, Retail and Fashion (producing garments).
How much does it cost?
As this is a personalised programme, it will depend on how many hours your proposed programme is. All courses are charged at an hourly rate. It will also depend on your age (if you are 16-18 it is free) and your personal circumstances (those on benefits get reduced rates).
How many hours a week will I attend?
Again this will depend on the programme that is worked out for you. It could be as little as 3 hours a week or as much as 17 hours.
Is it a full time course?
It is flexible and personalised to what you want to do. If you are able to commit to full time hours a schedule can be put together for you if not your programme will reflect the amount of time you can commit.
What is the process or how do I get started?
You can get started by calling for a personal interview with the advice and guidance team.
What happens at the interview or first meeting?
You will be asked to fill in a form so that we can find out your starting point. After a chat with one of advisors about your aspirations, you may take an initial assessment. Afterwards the advisor will discuss the possible pathways with you, and together you will agree an action plan.
