About Local Land Charges
If you are buying property, land, or commercial or industrial premises in Barking and Dagenham, a local authority Local Land Charges Search must be undertaken on the property as part of the conveyancing process.
The purpose of the search is to find out whether there are any restrictions or legal obligations registered against the premises.
All the information required for the Local Land Charges Register and replies to the CON29R search form are supplied to the Local Land Charges section by other council services and partners such as:
- Building Control
- other government/outside bodies
If your search is urgent, please contact us so that we can do all we can to help you and your client.
We currently complete and dispatch searches within one to three working days.
Please submit with your application two site location plans clearly marking the area that you want us to search on.
This ensures that the search application is not delayed.
