Barking mad about Christmas

Barking at ChristmasThe sleigh bells will be ringing and there will be plenty of festive joy around Barking Town Centre when the Christmas lights are switched on at the start of December.

The council is planning another fun filled afternoon for all the family on Saturday 1 December.

There will be a free Santa’s grotto*, free Santa gifts and meet real reindeers. The Christmas tree lights will be switched on with Paw Patrol.

Mr Incredible and Baby Jack Jack from ‘The Incredibles’ and Bing Bunny will be present and there will be prizes for the best Christmas fancy dressed.

The event will also feature Christmas carols and entertainment, Arts, Crafts and Vintage fair hosted by Studio 3 Arts and Christmas workshop hosted by PartyBox. There will also be stalls offering Christmas gifts, delights and face painting.

This free event will take place in Barking Town Square (outside Barking Learning Centre) between 11am and 5pm.

Donate a Christmas gift for local children in need - take an unwrapped child’s gift to the drop box in Vicarage Field Shopping Centre or any council library.
