Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Council Tax

If COVID-19 has impacted you financially and you are struggling to pay your Council Tax, there is help available for you.

Council Tax Support

Council Tax Support, can reduce your Council Tax bill by as much as 75% if you are working age.

You can make a claim for Council Tax Support online by registering for a My Account.

Government has also made emergency funding available to reduce Council Tax bills for working age residents in receipt of Council Tax Support.

If you are a working age recipient of Council Tax Support, you will receive a further reduction in this year’s 2020 to 2021 Council Tax bill up to a maximum of £150.

If your bill is less than £150 then the bill will be reduced to nil or if your bill is already nil, then no further reduction will be made.

We will automatically award this reduction to all eligible residents, so you do not need to contact us for this, a revised council tax bill will be sent to you in due course.
