St George’s Day
Come and join us to celebrate St George’s Day in Barking Town Square.
We will raise the flag at 12pm, followed by a tea party including sandwiches, scones and refreshments.
Entertainment includes music, garden games, a magician as well as face-painting… plus our friendly Town Square Dragon!
This is a free event open to everyone of all ages. We hope you can make it!
St George’s Day event funding
Barking and Dagenham council and Barking & Dagenham Council for Voluntary Service (BDCVS) have come together to co-fund events and activities that bring communities together to celebrate this year’s St George’s Day.
The Barking and Dagenham Together for St George's Day Grant Programme, is part of a series of new funding opportunities from BDCVS made available to organisations in Barking and Dagenham to promote cohesion and equality.
Grants will be made available for organisations to deliver an event such as a tea party, lunch, street party, quiz night, etc. The event will need to encompass and brings residents together between Monday 15 and Tuesday 30 April 2019 to mark officially St George’s Day.
All projects will be included in the Barking and Dagenham #ThisIsMe campaign
The deadline is 19 April, however early applications are welcomed and decisions will also be made on 12 April.
