Mental health vocational support services
We provide support and enable people with mental health issues to access employment, training, education and volunteering activities through various forms of support, and help them to achieve their vocational goals.
We work with individuals to:
remain in a current job
identify relevant pre-employment and job skills training
create or update an existing CV
complete job application forms and interview skills/techniques
Build confidence/self-esteem using social activity/socially inclusive groups
We take a person-centred approach and our vocational support worker will work with individuals on a one-to-one basis to provide tailored support to enable them to overcome barriers and achieve their desired goals. This could be through involvement in further education, training, voluntary or paid work, social activity and other activities to enhance quality of life and promote social inclusion.
The service is available to anyone using or eligible to use secondary mental health services in Barking and Dagenham aged 18+.
