Barking and Dagenham Lottery Summer Superdraw winners revealed
The Barking and Dagenham Lottery Summer Superdraw took place on Saturday (4 August), with seven winners taking home bonus prizes from this special edition of the weekly lottery.
Saturday’s Summer Superdraw saw seven guaranteed raffle prizes on offer, alongside the usual top prize of £25,000.
Helen Jenner from east London and Kelly Barber from Dagenham were each winners of £600 Haven holiday vouchers. Five other winners also received ASDA gift vouchers worth £100 each, including Kieth Hughes from Ilford.
Dr Jenner reacted to the news, saying:
“I’m a volunteer at, and the treasurer for, Ab Phab Youth Club.”
“I’m very surprised to have won such a big prize! I have supported the Barking and Dagenham lottery since it began.
“It’s a great way to support local charities and hopefully lots of other people will have my luck in the future!”
Ms Barber was equally pleased to have won a Haven holiday voucher:
“I’m really excited and I can’t wait to book a holiday,” she said.
“The good cause groups that benefit from the Barking and Dagenham Lottery are really great for the community, so I’m just happy to be able to give something back by playing.”
Mr Hughes also spoke following the result, saying:
“I’m delighted to have won one of the prizes from this month’s Barking and Dagenham Lottery Summer Superdraw.
“I have been happy to support Barking Rugby Club by nominating them as my chosen good cause. They do some great work with young people in the community.”
Over 500 people have won prizes since the launch of the Barking and Dagenham Lottery in October 2017, and more than £16,000 has so far been raised for the 34 local good causes registered with the scheme.
The Summer Superdraw may now be over, but with 60p from every £1 ticket sold going to a good cause, you can still support a range of organisations and charities.
Councillor Saima Ashraf, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Community Leadership and Engagement, said:
“I would like to congratulate all the Summer Superdraw winners and thank everyone who took part.
“The Barking and Dagenham Lottery is a great way of supporting local organisations, so I really hope that people continue to take part and encourage their friends and neighbours to sign up too – that way we can raise even more for good causes in the borough.”
