Barking Market will now be open on Mondays adding an extra day to its normal opening days of Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The additional day will start from Monday 3 December until Christmas Eve Monday 24 December.

Not only will you have an extra day each week to get that Christmas shopping in, there will also a special Christmas market on Friday 21 December for the whole family to experience.

"It is a fantastic opportunity for all the family to get into the Christmas spirit"

Doughnuts, roasted chestnuts and candy floss will all be on sale as well as free children’s games and Christmas card making sessions. Shoppers will be able to enjoy extended opening hours of 9am to 7pm on that day.

For one week only the market will also be open on a Wednesday, with traders opening their stalls from 9am to 5pm on 19 December.

Councillor Saima Ashraf, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Community Leadership and Engagement, said:

“I hope residents make the most of the extended opening days and turn out in their numbers to enjoy the festive fun.

“It is a fantastic opportunity for all the family to get into the Christmas spirit, enjoy seasoned food and play games.”

Don’t miss the chance to get into the true Christmas spirit at Barking Market and let your children get creative in the build-up to the holiday season.
