Dagenham school achieves accreditations for high-quality education

Rush Green Primary School in Dagenham has received Quality Mark Awards for Primary English and Mathematics and Early Years Provision to the delight of staff.

Quality Mark is an internationally acknowledged improvement framework and quality assurance standard that celebrates and supports excellence in English and mathematics provision.

Headteacher, Simon Abeledo, said: "We are delighted with the Quality Mark awards that we received, especially considering the impact of the lockdowns and covid related illnesses.

"Staff have worked tirelessly to maintain standards across the curriculum.

"Their work, combined with the incredible support of our parents, has led to us achieving something that we can all be very proud of.

"Staff, parents and pupils, have all played a part in this."

The school was required to meet criteria consisting of ten different elements, including planning, policy and curriculum. Staff also took part in a virtual interview with an assessor.

"To achieve these awards despite the challenges presented by the pandemic is tremendous and a credit to everyone involved."

Quality Mark award assessor, Amy Kelly, said: "Research and teamwork are key to the school's success.

"Practitioners take and adapt best-practice research, taking risks without fear of failure.

"Rush Green Primary School successfully demonstrates a wide range of evidence for the ten elements of the Primary Quality Mark.

"The Early Years settings fully demonstrated that they meet the criteria for a successful renewal of the Early Years Quality Mark, and I congratulate them on their impressive and thought-provoking learning environment."

Councillor Evelyn Carpenter, Cabinet Member for Educational Attainment and School Improvement, said: "I'd like to congratulate the staff at Rush Green Primary School on achieving these accreditations.

"To achieve these awards despite the challenges presented by the pandemic is tremendous and a credit to everyone involved."
