One Borough Festival 2018Tags Adults , Children , Council , Family , Residents

Coming to Parsloes Park next weekend, we head back in time to the 80s with the One Borough Festival on Saturday 20 July before rocking your socks off, with the Roundhouse Music Festival on Sunday 21 July.

What is shaping up to be our biggest weekend of the year, we bring the borough not one, but two, FREE, fantastic festivals that will have something for everyone.

On the Saturday, One Borough Festival ventures back into the neon 80s and will be a day of music and fun for all the family. With Eurovision legends The Fizz (formerly Bucks Fizz) headlining the music stage along with a selection of 80s tribute acts.

The day will also include the ultimate children’s party, with a meet and greet with kids’ favourite Peppa Pig, local dance acts showcasing their talent at our ‘Jump About Arena’, alongside high-flying vehicle display acts and jousting in the ‘Thrills and Spills Arena’.

On the Sunday, the Roundhouse Music Festival rolls into the park with an array of popular rock tribute acts. Headlining the day are The Rolling Clones, one of the best Rolling Stones tribute acts in the UK alongside tributes to Meat Loaf and Elton John. Joining the line-up will be Protostereo, whom will be bringing us back to today’s era with some modern rock hits.

We will also have the final of the Roundhouse Unsigned competition, in association with Studio 3 Arts Livewire, showcasing the best local musical talent, from which a winner will be decided on the day!

At both festivals expect children’s activities, funfair rides, inflatables, karaoke booth, delicious street food and a licensed bar too.

One Borough Festival is always such a fun and fantastic day for all the family, with so much to do and this year’s 80s themed event will be no exception.

To have it back to back with the rocking sounds at the Roundhouse Music festival, the weekend promises to be one to remember and I am very much looking forward to it.

Councillor Saima Ashraf, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Community Leadership and Engagement, is really looking forward to the weekend of events. She said: “One Borough Festival is always such a fun and fantastic day for all the family, with so much to do and this year’s 80s themed event will be no exception.
