Steam engines, classic cars and entertainment for all at borough fair

Steam and Cider FairTags Adults , Children , Family , Residents

On Saturday 29 June, the FREE Steam and Cider Fair rolls into town over at Old Dagenham Park between 11am to 6pm.

Come down with family and friends for some traditional entertainment and attractions, which reflects the borough’s rural and industrial heritage.

A day of getting up close to vintage steam engines, seeing these great vehicles on display in all their historical glory. Also, get close to the array of classic cars and vehicles lined up and see them take to the arena in our famous parade.

At the fair’s ‘Thrills and Spills’ arena, we have skilled tricks and freestyle display jumps from the exciting Moto Stunts International Motorcycle and Quad team, the Essex Dog Display team will be wowing the audience with their outstanding displays and Ferret World will be entertaining and informative.

Not only that, there will be live music at the Cider Stage featuring all your favourite country and western rock and roll hits, entertainment, stalls, fairground rides and workshops for all the family. Along with great food and, of course, great tasting cider and real ales served from the bar.

The fair also welcomes a host of farm animals to interact with as well as the Owl’s World falconry and horse and carriage rides for all ages.

Come visit the ‘Council Village’, your one-stop shop of council services providing helpful information and advice about a range of services, which include: Information and vehicles from our waste, highways and enforcement teams, games, activities and advice from our healthy lifestyles team and information on free childcare in the borough for 3 & 4 year old’s.

It will be an interesting and insightful day, having such wonderful examples of industrial heritage on display at the Steam and Cider Fair this year.

I’m also looking forward to the fun-packed entertainment at the ‘Thrills and Spills’ arena, guaranteeing the day will have something to offer for everyone.

Councillor Saima Ashraf, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Community Leadership and Engagement is really looking forward to the day’s events. She said:
