Residents of Barking and Dagenham aged 19 to 24 are being invited to take advantage of a 12-week traineeship with the Adult College.
The traineeship opportunity will provide participants with the chance to improve their potential and prepare them for a career in hospitality, fitness and customer service.
Interested residents will be expected to meet the eligibility requirements and attend a pre assessment interview.
In addition, they will need to commit to a combination of classroom-based activities and work placements with high profile employers over the 12-week period.
Councillor Sade Bright, Cabinet Member for Employment, Skills and Aspiration, said: “As a council we are committed to ensuring there are a range of opportunities available to our residents to take advantage of the many training and development opportunities available to help them kickstart their careers.
“I will encourage as many of our residents who are interested to give it a try.”

Companies already signed up to take on trainees include The Savoy, The Ritz, the London Edition Hotel Group and Toca Social.
Interested residents can attend an open event on Tuesday 28 September from 9.00 to 11.30am at The Adult College, 127 Ripple Road, Barking IG11 7PB. To register for this event, please email: traineeships@lbbd.gov.uk
