Win a family ticket to Belowzero Ice Bar by naming our new gritters!

Our new gritting vehicles are in need of a new name, can you help?Tags Adults , Children , Council , Family , Residents , Teenagers

Our highways team recently got three brand new gritters, however, before they hit the streets, they need names worthy of the brilliant job they do at keeping the roads safe when it’s icy.

We've all heard of David Plowie and Basil Salty

That’s where you come in - we want you to send us your name suggestions for our new gritters. We’re letting local school children pick one of the names, but the other two are down to you. Let’s think outside the box; we’ve heard of David Plowie and Basil Salty, so we want original, inventive names that will give our gritters extra street cred.

Once we get all your suggestions in, our panel of esteemed judges will be narrowing it down to a top 24 and then the power will be handed over to you. You’ll be able to vote for your favourite on Facebook and Twitter and the top two names will have the honour of being branded onto our gritting machines. The other vehicle will be picked out of all the suggestions sent into us by local schools.

Brilliant prizes for the whole family up for grabs

Best of all, the three winners will get a family ticket to Belowzero Ice Bar in London! You’ll get the chance to visit the cool bar for a Champagne session, where you’ll get a free ice glass of champagne or a cocktail (make that a mocktail for little ones!)

To enter, fill in the form below with your suggested names and a few details, before the closing date of Thursday 22 November. You can put forward up to three names, so if you’ve got lots of ideas, submit them all. Good luck!
