London construction company donates laptops to Barking primary school

Ripple Primary School in Barking has been given 10 laptops to help pupils who are learning remotely during the pandemic.

Arc Group London, who are currently building three reception classrooms at Ripple Primary School’s Suffolk Road site, delighted staff with the generous donation.

Headteacher, Roger Mitchell, said: “I am overwhelmed by the generosity of Arc. Their donation of 10 laptops for our children came out of the blue.

“These will help 10 of our most disadvantaged pupils access the online learning that we are providing during the lockdown. It will make a real difference to their lives and learning.

“I can’t thank Arc enough for this wonderful gift to our pupils.”

Business Support Manager for Arc Group London commented: “Supporting our communities and our schools is at the heart of the Arc Group London and now more than ever it’s important to ensure the younger generation are equipped with the tools they need to succeed.”

Councillor Evelyn Carpenter, Cabinet Member for Educational Attainment and School Improvement, recently wrote to the Secretary of State urging him to support infant schools with devices for remote learning.



On learning of Arc Group London’s donation to Ripple Primary, Councillor Carpenter said: “It is so important for our young pupils to be able to continue to access opportunities to learn and engage with their school community during this challenging time.

“The company’s generous donation is a wonderful example of how businesses can support the young people in our community.”
