Determined admission arrangements

All schools must have admission arrangements that clearly set out how school applications are processed, including the criteria that will be applied if there are more applications than places at a school.

Admission arrangements are set by admission authorities.

The council is the Admissions Authority for all community schools in this borough.

Voluntary aided schools and academies set their own admissions arrangements and are known as ‘own admission authority’ schools.

Every admission authority must set (determine) their admission arrangements each year and publish them on their website by 1 May.

The determined admissions arrangements for all Barking and Dagenham schools for 2016-2017 entry are listed here.

If you feel these arrangements do not comply with the School Admissions Code or laws relating to admissions, please make your objection to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator by 15 May:

The Office of the Schools Adjudicator
Mowden Hall Staindrop Road Darlington DL3 9BG

Any decision the Adjudicator makes must be followed by the admission authority and their admission arrangements must change in line with the Adjudicator’s request.

Please select ‘school consultation’ for schools that are changing their 2017-2018 admission arrangements.
