Children's half-term activities Toggle accordion

Activ8, the centre's sports scheme for children aged between 5 and 14 years, runs every half term. It is run by fully qualified members of staff who have fully enhanced DBS police checks. There are also at least two fully qualified first aiders on site.

There are more than 20 experienced coaches at the centre and there are at least 7 coaches at the centre during the sports scheme. The scheme has been running for many years and on average 80+ children take part in sports every day.

Sessions

The Activ8 sports club has a number of time sessions for children. No booking is required as only a registration form needs to be completed. The centre may ask for proof of child’s age via a birth certificate or passport.

Normal hours

The most popular session runs from 9.30am to 3.30pm and costs £10. At this session, children will be given options of what they want to do and will always have at least 2 choices of activities.

Extended hours

This session is ideal for the parent/carer who works between 8am to 6pm and costs £16.  During extended hours the children will play a variety of fun activities to get them warmed up for the day’s events.

Half days

There are 2 sessions each day that run from 8am to 1pm and 1pm to 6pm. Each session costs £8.  The sessions are mainly aimed at the children who find a full day of activities a bit strenuous. This is ideal for children who are attending for the first time as it gives them the opportunity to get used to the scheme.

If you drop your child off before the half day afternoon session and they stay until 6pm you will be charged £16.

Registration form

To sign up for half-term activities, download and complete the registration form and return to the leisure centre.
