Supplementary planning documents
Draft River Road Employment Area (including Kingsway Industrial Estate) Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)
London Borough of Barking and Dagenham Council would like your views on the draft River Road Employment Area (including Kingsway Industrial Estate) Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). This will provide a masterplan for the regeneration and development of an area of the borough - River Road and Thames Road - where significant growth is envisaged to take place over the next 20 years. The draft masterplan and related documents are available to view at the bottom of this page.
Barking and Dagenham Council has ambitious plans for growth, including the creation of 50,000 homes and 20,000 jobs which will be delivered through its new draft Local Plan. Preparation of this supplementary planning document has been led by Be First on behalf of the council and has been launched to provide supplementary planning guidance and a framework for future development in the Thames Road area, which has been identified within the draft Local Plan as a key area for growth.
Once adopted, the Supplementary Planning Document will be pivotal in helping to shape development in the area. It provides more in-depth guidance on policies set out in a Local Plan to help guide developers, planning officers and local stakeholders such as business owners and residents and will be a material consideration in planning decisions. That is why we would like to hear from you.
The consultation will run for 8 weeks, commencing on Tuesday 1 December 2020 and concluding on Tuesday 26 January 2021.
