Support groups
Activities for Parents and children aged 0-5
These activities help promote the development of communication by:
- supporting children and their families/carers at groups and advice sessions
- identifying any speech language and communication needs (SLCN) early on at these groups in order to provide timely and appropriate ideas to meet the needs of individual children
Groups are delivered by staff with an Early Years qualification of NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).

Fairtrade chocolate scented Playdough
Equipment needed:
2 cups of plain flour
half a cup of salt
half a cup of cocoa powder (preferably Fairtrade for Fairtrade fortnight).
1 to 1 and a half cups of water
3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
St David’s Day daffodil
Equipment needed:
egg box
orange paint
yellow card
glue
green lolly stick / rolled up green paper/ or white paper coloured in green
Mother’s Day card
Equipment needed:
different colours of paint
paint brush
card or paper
St Patrick’s Day shamrock
Equipment needed:
card or paper
scissors
green papers / materials or green pencils, paint, crayons or pencils
Holi Hindu Festival of Colour picture

bright paints
water to mix into paints
