Winter Lantern Parade with fireworks finale

Sunday 7 November

4pm to 8pm

Chitty's Lane to Valence Park

In partnership with Creative Barking & Dagenham.

Come and cheer on the procession of light from Chitty's Lane to Valence Park, Dagenham.

The Winter Lantern Parade takes place on Chitty's Lane to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first houses built on the estate as part of our Becontree Forever programme. To mark this occasion, we will be holding a parade on Sunday 7 November at 4.30pm to start from Henry Green Primary School on Chitty’s Lane and end up at Valence Park, where there will be a free, family event starting at 4pm with amazing stage acts, live music and street theatre followed by a spectacular fireworks finale display.

The parade, organised in partnership with Creative Barking & Dagenham, will involve the local schools and residents around the area and will include handmade big head puppets and lanterns - bring your own handmade lantern or make one at our workshops.

We will be working with Henry Green Primary School, Becontree Primary School and Valence Primary School to create the artwork and there will be an opportunity for families to attend free creative workshops.
