Old Dagenham Park to Parsloes Park

The sixth annual youth parade to celebrate the borough’s inspirational young people and the positive contribution they make to Barking and Dagenham.

Events and activities:

  • line the streets and cheer on the parade
  • join the celebratory event at Parsloes Park
  • music and dance
  • free inflatables and rides
  • family fun and food
  • find out about the groups, clubs and activities for young people in the borough

Youth After Party hosted by Sir Ashley J and headlined by BBC's Greatest Dancer finalist, Frobacks and UK Rapper, Gen. Also featuring vocals from Summa Taylor and MEGAMiKES and dance from Myself UK, New MovementzUK and 3style Fridays.

Parade Route

The parade leaves at 1.30pm from Old Dagenham Park and takes the following route:

  1. Leave via Rectory Road

  2. Turn left onto Church Elm Lane

  3. Turn right onto the Heathway by Dagenham Library

  4. Over the Heathway

  5. Turn left onto Parsloes Avenue

  6. Turn left onto Terrace Walk

  7. Into the park and stick to the paths

There is public car parking on site with a £3.50 charge to park your vehicle in the event car park.

An official photographer has been commissioned by the Council to take photographs and/or film at the Youth Parade. The photographs and films may be published, transmitted or broadcast in LBBD publications and/or publicity materials, and websites, and may be circulated to the press and other broadcast media and internet websites for publication, transmission or broadcast.   • weapons, drugs or legal highs
  • uncontrolled or dangerous dogs (please keep dogs on leads)

Official event photography and filming will take place and will be used for all marketing and communication purposes. Photo consent forms will be completed for close-up shots of children. Contact the Information Point if you have any concerns.

Free blue badge parking on site on grass.

Public transport

The park has two transport connections serviced by the District line via Dagenham Heathway station which is a 12 minute walk from the venue and Becontree station which is only a two minute walk from the venue.


Parsloes Park is a relatively flat site on grass with hard standing paths.

The vast majority of the park is accessible to wheelchairs.


The site has toilets and baby change.

There is a fully accessible facility with changing area, shower and toilet with ramped access and a hoist.

For assistance during the event, please visit the Information Point.

First Aid on site is located near the Information Point.

Families attending are encouraged to visit the Information Point in order to gain a wristband in case children or vulnerable adults become separated from your group.
