Ways that we contact you

If you fall behind with your Council Tax payments, we will contact you by text message, email, or a phone call with a pre-recorded message.

Please see below examples of how we will contact you, so that you can make sure they are genuine.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us using our online form.

Text message

The text message from us will say it’s from ‘LBBD’, will have your full name in the text and will also have a hyperlink which will take you to a verification page.

Once you are through the verification page, you will be shown a new page which will detail how much Council Tax you need to pay and how to pay it.

Email

The email from us will say it’s from ‘email@infol.bbd.gov.uk’, will have your full name in the email and will also have a hyperlink which will take you to a verification page.

Once you are through the verification page, you will be shown a new page which will detail how much Council Tax you need to pay and how to pay it.

Phone call with pre-recorded message

When you answer the phone call, a pre-recorded message will start to ensure that you are the correct person who has been contacted.  Once you are through the verification process, the pre-recorded message will tell you how much Council Tax you owe and how to pay it. 

Manage your Council Tax account

To make sure your up to date with your Council Tax payments, please login or create your My B&D account. If you need to link your Council Tax account with your My B&D account, please visit our How to link your Council Tax account to My B&D page.

It is your responsibility to pay the installments shown on your Council Tax bill and failure to do so may result in recovery action being taken.  Please see our Debt management policy for more information.
