New Town Culture is a pioneering initiative led by LBBD which has embedded art, culture and creative confidence in social care services, with powerful, positive outcomes for service users and social work practitioners. It includes creative clubs, resources and tools, training and knowledge exchange with children, adults, staff, and cultural practitioners.
New Town Culture has been a positive disruptive force that has forever changed social work practice in Barking and Dagenham, equipping social workers with creative approaches and methods to unlock the benefits of arts and culture, and to help them use creative arts as the vehicle through which to connect.
