Let us know if you need help or support
The community of Barking & Dagenham have come together to help the vulnerable in our borough, or those that just need a bit more help during these difficult times. The council and the BD_Collective are co-ordinating this activity. We have Hubs across the borough, run by local community organisations, who connect volunteer support with people who need help.
This is called BD CAN, our Citizens’ Alliance Network.
Get in touch if you, or someone you know, needs:
- help picking up medicine
- some essential food shopping
- a friendly phone call
- or something else
You can access this support by telephoning the council call centre on 020 8215 3000 and asking for help from BD CAN.
This service is not for people who are receiving social care support already, or if they have had a letter from the NHS informing them that they are extremely vulnerable. We have separate support arrangements in place to provide this support
