New playground equipment has been installed at James Cambell Primary School in Dagenham to the delight of its pupils. 

 

A fantastic new climbing frame has been built in the school’s playground as part of plans to transform the children’s experience outside of the classroom, and it’s already proving to be a huge hit!

 

Headteacher, Joe Wilson, explained: “We’re working hard to ensure that all our children get the opportunities they deserve.

 

“Of course, excellent quality teaching is part of this, but their wider development is just as important.

 

“We want our children to have fun at school and to set them up for future success.”

 

The popular climbing frame, installed by Educational Play Environments, is just the beginning of the school’s mission to transform the space. Work is underway to create different zones in the playground. 

 

Role-play areas, art zones, quiet reading spaces and opportunities to build dens will inspire creativity and imagination outside of the classroom. And a gigantic sand pit will be fitted later on this year.

The fun continues off the playground thanks to the large playing field, which offers children plenty of space to run around and take part in team games. 

 

Councillor Evelyn Carpenter, Cabinet Member for Educational Attainment and School Improvement, said: “It’s wonderful that the children are enjoying their fantastic new climbing frame.

 

“It’s so important for them to have opportunities to learn, play and have fun outside of the classroom with their peers.

 

“I can’t wait to see the next steps of this exciting project!”

 

James Cambell Primary School works closely with its parents and the wider community and welcomes visitors.
