Pop-up vaccine clinics running across the borough to make it easier for residents to get their jab!

Over the next two weeks, Barking and Dagenham Council in partnership with the NHS and GP Federation, Together First CIC, will be running a number of pop-up vaccination clinics in different locations across the borough to make it easier and more convenient for residents to get their first and second jabs.

The walk-in clinics are open to anyone 18 years and over, no appointment is needed. Each clinic will be offering the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine and second doses of the Pfizer or Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine (providing you have had your first dose of either vaccine 8 weeks before). No proof of address, immigration or NHS number is required and all you need to do is provide proof of your age.

Alongside the pop-up vaccine clinics, over the coming days a team of council officers will be out, door knocking and visiting public areas across the borough to encourage and support more residents to have their jabs.

Councillor Maureen Worby, Cabinet Member for Social Care and Health Integration, said: “We know that there are a number of reasons that some people still haven’t had their jab.

“For some residents convenience and accessibility of vaccination centres has been an issue so that’s why we have been working with our health partners to provide more local options for people to get their jab.

“For others, their reticence is due to a that a lack of information or concerns that they have about the vaccine and that’s why we have a team of council offers going out and visiting residents to provide them with more information.”
