Local graduates invited to find out about a career with the council

Are you a resident of Barking and Dagenham and a graduate or due to graduate by July 2023?

Have you ever thought of working for your local council?

We are offering residents and employees the opportunity to join our graduate scheme as a National Management Trainee to lead critical projects and services that make a real difference to the lives of our residents.

The National Graduate Development Programme (NGDP) is a two-year fast-track programme for graduates who want to make a difference in communities while launching their management career in the public sector. It includes a fully funded postgraduate qualification in leadership and management and a starting salary of £28,470 per annum.

Cllr Dominic Twomey, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance, Growth & Core Services, said: “I am extremely proud that once again we have been able to offer this training and employment opportunity to our residents and employees.

“I will urge as many residents as possible and council employees to consider the opportunity and register for the information session to find out more.”

This is the third year we have been able to create a specific route for our residents and employees to benefit from the programme. We welcome applications from people who are passionate about making our borough a better place via our local route: https://www.jobtrain.co.uk/lga/displayjob.aspx?jobid=1752

Candidates from all backgrounds and disciplines are welcome to apply. They must have achieved a 2:2 or above by July 2023, have the right to work in the UK and are a local resident or employee for our local route.

Anyone interested is invited to an Information Day on Monday 21 November 2022 at 11am at Barking Learning Centre. To register for the open day, please email Rabeya.Ali@lbbd.gov.uk by 16 November 2022, 5pm.
