Fiona Taylor has been appointed as Barking and Dagenham Council’s new permanent chief executive.

Her appointment will be confirmed at the Council’s Annual Assembly meeting on 17 May. Fiona Taylor has been acting chief executive since April last year.

Welcoming the appointment, Cllr Darren Rodwell, Leader of Barking and Dagenham Council, said: “Over the past 12 months Fiona has proven herself again and again to be an exceptional chief officer who has the knowledge, skills, and ambition to take the council forwards. Fiona has a passion for the borough and its people, as well as for our staff, and will help lead us on the road ahead.

We will also deliver on our people agenda by rolling out new Family and Community hubs.

"I know you will join me in sending many congratulations to Fiona as together we deliver the best for the people of Barking and Dagenham.”
