Adult social care is not provided as a free service. It is your responsibility, if you have the means to do so, to pay for the care and support you receive. The amount you pay is known as your contribution.
This online calculator will calculate how much you may need to contribute towards any care you receive which has been arranged by the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. It is important that you complete this calculator by entering details about your benefits, pensions, earnings, savings, assets, and essential costs, as accurately as possible, to ensure the calculator can estimate the correct amount you may need to contribute towards your care.
Please note that this calculator will provide an estimate only and that the amount you may need to contribute will be subject to a financial assessment, which can only be done once you have completed and returned a financial assessment form. You will only have to pay either your weekly assessed contribution or the weekly cost of your care, whichever is lower.
