Overview
Welcome to the Barking & Dagenham Fostering homepage, where you can find out more, and apply to become a Foster Carer
Becoming a foster parent means you'll be able to support, love and care for a child in care, in all aspects of their life, whilst also providing them with a safe, stable and nurturing environment that they can call home.
It's a very rewarding and life changing role but we also understand that it can be difficult and new foster parents can have lots of questions. That's why we, the Barking and Dagenham foster team, are here to help.
We'll provide you with all the training and guidance you need, pay generous fees and support you every step of the way.
It doesn't matter what sexuality you are, if you're disabled or if you're single, in a relationship or married, we'd love to hear from people from all backgrounds and cultures who are ready to start their fostering journey.
If you can provide a child with a loving home, you'll receive up to £712.50 a week, plus free leisure centre access and much more.
The Barking & Dagenham Service are now a part of the Local Community Fostering Service – a network of six northeast London boroughs with an ambition to inspire more people from all walks of life, to become foster carers.
The Local Community Fostering service is dedicated to supporting you on your journey to becoming a local authority foster carer. We want to hear from you whether you’re just considering fostering for the first time and want to find out a little more, or if you’re an experienced carer looking to transfer from an independent fostering agency. We are always looking for carers from a variety of background regardless of age, ethnicity, religion, sexuality or marital or employment status.
Please visit the link above and complete the short form, and a member of our friendly Local Fostering Community team will be in touch at a time convenient to you to have a chat about fostering with Barking & Dagenham.
Alternatively, you can call 020 8496 3437 during working hours, to discuss this further.
