Our Youth Justice Plan outlines a collaborative, child-first approach to reducing youth offending, tackling disproportionality, and improving outcomes for vulnerable children through prevention, diversion, and restorative practices. This is published annually, as required by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

This strategy sets out how the Barking and Dagenham multi-agency partnership will prevent and improve the response to child sexual abuse. Our core vision is: “Every child safe, every voice heard, every reality faced”.
The strategy is driven by a detailed needs assessment that draws on national and local research, data, insights and learning. It is made up of five key commitments and an action plan to be carried out over the next three years so that children are consistently heard, protected, and supported, with perpetrators disrupted and held to account.

A Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) looks at the health and wellbeing of people in our area, so local services like the NHS and council can plan better support for everyone.

Under the Health and Social Care Act 2012, every Health and Wellbeing Board is mandated to publish a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) every three years or sooner if significant changes in service provision arise.
PNAs assess the availability and accessibility of pharmaceutical services, taking into account the health needs of the local population, identifying where there may be a lack of pharmaceutical services or unmet needs.

The Barking and Dagenham Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy sets out a five-year plan to improve residents’ health, reduce inequalities, and promote wellbeing through community partnerships and targeted action across all life stages.
As required by the Health and the Care Act 2012, the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy outlines Health and Wellbeing Board partners’ key priorities to improve population health. The Health and Wellbeing Strategy was endorsed by Health and Wellbeing Board on 26 June 2023.
