Holiday Activities and Food Programme

The Holiday Activity and Food (HAF) Programme is open to children and young people who live or go to school in Barking and Dagenham and are eligible for benefit-related free school meals.

There are lots of different free exciting activities available for children and young people aged 4 to 16, from Reception to Year 13. Children and young people can enjoy a range of activities from swimming to mindfulness, theatre to cookery workshops and much more!

HAF is an inclusive programme, and children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) are warmly welcomed to join in the fun!

We will provide free nutritious hot meals each day. Spaces are limited, so please click below to find out how to book.

HAF is funded by the Department for Education.

Future Youth Zone offers a safe and affordable youth facility for junior aged young people in the school holidays, with fantastic activities on offer every single day including a host of sports, games, arts and crafts, and cooking sessions!  Holiday Club is for young people aged 8 to 12 years old.

Inspire Minds Through Sports is delighted to be offering the DfE Holiday Activities & Food Programme across two sites this Easter. We are providing 5-11 year olds, across the borough access to creative programmes during the Easter period.  Every child will get to enjoy at least 1 hour of physical education each day. Activities will include: football, basketball, archery, fitness sessions, dodgeball, gymnastics, qwik cricket, tennis, multisports, netball, cricket, outdoor orienteering and kick cricket. We also offer a wide range of enrichment activities which include: money workshops, drama, health and nutrition workshops, arts and crafts and meditation. Everyone is welcome, so please come along and join us!

Ballerz

Ballerz is a multi-sports holiday club for 5-11 year olds. Ballerz has two sites in Barking and Dagenham where we deliver our sports club – Valence Primary School and Northbury Primary School. Ballerz has been running for 6 years within the borough and has been delivering the HAF programme since Easter 2021.

Artbash

6 to 11yr olds

ARTBASH Camp EGG is a four-day art programme exploring characters who we can crack out of an egg. It takes place in Manor Longbridge School, 40 Scholars Way, Longbridge Road, Rm8 2FL  from the 11th – 14th April, 9am – 3.30pm.  Our Camp EGG will have a variety of awesome art workshops using different artists as inspiration each day as well as some brilliant breakdancing to get us up and moving each day. Becontree Creative Camp (ages 4-11)

Fun and exciting creative activities for children aged 4-11 that include drama, dance and arts & crafts, led by friendly and experienced staff. Children will receive a hot lunch and snacks each day, get to see a live theatre show that visits the camp and take part in a certificate presentation on the last day!

The Disablement Association of Barking & Dagenham (DABD) is delighted to announce our HAF Easter programme of events for the school holidays. We are running 8 days of FREE activities for special educational needs & disabled (SEND) children & young adults within the borough. The days will include lots of fun and educational sessions including an eating healthy food demonstration and specifically designed exercise/activity sessions for SEND children & young adults.

We will be running a fun-filled activity camp this Easter. Your child will have the opportunity to learn how to swim, express themselves through arts and crafts, gain experience in various sporting activities, expand their knowledge on nutrition and why it’s important to maintain a healthy lifestyle and most importantly they will have the opportunity to make friends and socialise in a safe and welcoming environment. We want them to have the best time with us and walk away with new memories and life skills!

Ultimate Vision Sports are working in partnership with Barking & Dagenham to deliver an exciting programme to keep your child active through fun and engaging activities. Across the week, your child will participate in a range of sports such as football, dodgeball, cricket, athletics, basketball, handball, netball, tennis and much more.

In addition, we will provide workshops and enrichment activities which are designed to enable your child to learn new skills, make new friends and problem solve while developing their imagination and creative abilities. At the end of the week your child will receive a medal for their effort and participation.

West Ham United Foundation in conjunction with Barking and Dagenham Council are offering a FREE multisport programme during the Easter Holidays for boys and girls aged 11-16 years old. This programme will be tailored to the needs and interests of our participants but will consist of a wide range of multisport that aim to develop young people’s fundamental movement and sport specific skills.

Each child will also receive a healthy lunch per day

Show In A Week

A unique opportunity for young people to create a performance in just 5 days. Work with our professional artists to develop your skills behind the scenes or on stage, taking part in creative activities that include drama, dance and spoken word. This is a great way to increase skills and confidence in a fun and friendly environment and see a live theatre show which will come by to visit. We will also provide a hot meal and snacks each day plus a certificate on the last day.
