Right to buy (buy your council home)

The Right to Buy scheme helps eligible council and housing association tenants in England buy their homes and gives tenants a discount on the open market.

Submitting your application

Whether you complete the form online or download the form, you will need to print and sign it before returning it to us.

Important

The RTB1 application form must be returned in its original format. Please do not alter, amend, reformat, resize or recreate any part of the RTB1 application form. Modified forms may be rejected and returned to you as invalid.

  • All pages of the RTB1 application form must be returned, even if a page does not apply to you.
  • Do not remove, delete or omit any pages.
  • Where a section is not applicable, please leave it blank or indicate "N/A" where appropriate.
