The service aims to help tackle the wide and complex challenges facing the borough, and helping people help themselves, ensuring no one is left behind.
You’ll find yourself handling customer queries, face to face or on the phone, helping those that may require assistance to improve their income by signposting them to the relevant departments. You’ll be helping to reduce levels of debt and associated money issues within the community.
One of the areas you could find yourself covering is the Becontree Estate which has just celebrated it’s 100 year anniversary, it sprawls across four square miles and remains the biggest council estate in Europe! The biggest shift in Becontree and the borough of Barking and Dagenham is its diverse demographic and is one of its greatest strengths, growing and giving birth to a new sense of community.

Upon joining the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham you can expect lots of training opportunities with access to a great number of courses and bitesize learning. We’ll build a career development plan with you and review it on a regular basis ensuring our support of you is ongoing.
You will receive certification in taking control of goods level 2 or level 3 and training worth between £500.00 to £1000.00
