Eastbury Manor House unveils new guidebook and digital experience!

Visitors to Barking and Dagenham’s Eastbury Manor House can enjoy an experience like never before thanks to the launch of two exciting new resources that bring its rich history to life.

A beautifully crafted official guidebook and a dynamic digital guide have been designed to enhance the visitor experience and celebrate the legacy of the striking Elizabethan gentry house.

The new guidebook ‘Eastbury, A House Through History’, offers an intimate and engaging journey through five centuries of history. From its architectural evolution to the lives of those who lived and worked there, authors Pat and Barbara Elliott capture the spirit and stories of Eastbury life like never before.

The book, designed by Claire Mason, is available exclusively at Eastbury Manor House’s gift shop, serving as a keepsake for visitors and a source of previously unpublished insights.

In partnership with Bloomberg Connects, Eastbury Manor House has also launched a free digital guide accessible to all.

Whether tuning in onsite or from afar, users can enjoy curated exhibitions, guided audio tours, behind-the-scenes content and expanded historical information.

It’s available on smartphones, desktops and laptops by downloading the Bloomberg Connects: Art + Culture app or visiting Eastbury Manor House | Bloomberg Connects

Councillor Saima Ashraf, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Community Leadership and Engagement, was among attendees as the resources were launched. She said: “This marks a significant milestone in our mission to make heritage more accessible and engaging for all.

“Eastbury Manor House has a special place in our hearts and tells an important part of our borough’s history.

“I’m thrilled that these new resources offer our visitors fresh perspectives and a deeper connection to Eastbury’s past.”
