Barking and Dagenham Council is inviting local charities and community groups to apply for funding to deliver events that celebrate and promote the borough’s rich diversity.
The council’s Equality and Diversity Community Fundis now open for its latest round of applications. The fund supports organisations to deliver inclusive projects and events linked to the borough’s Equality and Diversity Calendar, helping bring residents together, strengthen community connections and celebrate the borough’s vibrant and diverse communities.
Applications are welcomed for activities marking any Equality, Diversity and Inclusion observance, with particular encouragement for events linked to upcoming dates including: World Autism Awareness Day, Vaisakhi, Easter, St George’s Day, Dementia Action Week, Eid-al-Adha, International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersex Discrimination, and Transphobia,Mental Health Awareness Week, Pride Month, Carers Week, Learning Disabilities Week, South Asian Heritage Month and Srebrenica Memorial Day.
Cllr Sade Bright, Cabinet Member for Equalities and Diversity, said:

Groups can apply using the online application form or request a Word version by emailing CE-strategy@lbbd.gov.uk. The deadline for applications is Sunday 22 February at 11.59pm.
