The park officially opened in 1995 and provides local people with the chance to experience the pleasure of the countryside on their doorstop. Eastbrookend is available for everyone to enjoy and visitors to the country park can partake in a range of self-lead recreational activities, including angling.

Sports and leisure facilities

There are 4 lakes on the park, 3 of which are available for day-ticket fishing. The Millennium Centre, an environmentally friendly visitor centre, opened on Eastbrookend in 1997 with funding from the Millennium Commission and was designed to demonstrate best practice in environmental construction. It is the base of operation for the Parks Ranger Service.

Car parking

Available off of Dagenham Road and is clearly signposted.

The car park will locked at:

  • 7pm - Spring and Summer
  • 4pm - Autumn and Winter

Accessibility

The country park is accessible every day of the year from sunrise until dusk. Access points consist of squeeze barriers and gates accessible through the RADAR scheme. There is a solid bound gravel footpath network across the country park. Please contact the Parks and Countryside Ranger Service for further information on access.

Directions by public transport

Dagenham Heathway

District Line train to Dagenham Heathway Station. Turn left out of station to bus stop. Bus number 174 to Farmhouse Tavern. Cross road using pelican crossing. Enter Country Park. For the Millennium Centre, turn left and follow path behind the Farmhouse Tavern, you will see the Millennium Centre in front of you.

Dagenham East

District Line train to Dagenham East Station. Cross over zebra crossing then turn left over bridge. Walk past Aventis Pharma buildings Turn immediately right along footpath, following factory boundary. Continue past the sports field on your left, until reaching a footpath to the left. Follow footpath into the Country Park. For the Millennium Centre, follow the path straight on past the woodland, you will see the Millennium Centre over to the right.
