In Barking & Dagenham, we like to do things differently.

So, to showcase our cohesion and integration journeys’ in the borough we worked with Mediorite, a social enterprise specialising in telling unique community stories, to produce three compelling and emotive films to tell real residents stories about their lives living in the borough.

We explore these stories, through three unique lenses;

• Food
• Volunteering
• Belonging

From heartwarming tales of people doing amazing things for young people, to people harnessing the power of food to help their community, these are real stories of amazing groups and individuals who are doing some amazing things in Barking & Dagenham.

Today, as more people come to the borough from a wide range of backgrounds, bringing an even richer mix of personal stories, we must keep the spirit of belonging alive, and talk with pride about the values that define our borough.
