The Council offers a FREE, high quality recruitment service for employers seeking to draw on local skills and talent. The service has worked with hundreds of employers in various sectors and has placed thousands of people into work.

We recognise that employers may have specific requirements for recruiting new staff members to ensure the needs of the business are met. Our aim is to shortlist suitable candidates that meet your requirements before you receive their application.

To achieve this, we provide a range of services including:

• Shortlisting suitable candidates that meet your requirements
• Setting up interviews and offering interview space
• Providing candidates with interview feedback
• Access to a database of work ready clients
• Arranging recruitment events
• Impartial advice on apprenticeships and access to the Council’s Apprenticeship Levy Transfer Scheme, which covers the full training costs for employers recruiting local apprentices
• Advising and supporting employers to improve recruitment and retention by meeting staff flexible working needs
• Understanding and accessing Access to Work for disabled candidates and employees
• Sector specialists including a dedicated construction team and training centre
