Local Outbreak Control Plan

Local authorities maintain outbreak control plans that outline how they will respond to infectious disease outbreaks across a range of settings, including community clusters.

The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham's Local Outbreak Control Plan provides a framework for coordinating the local response in partnership with relevant health and public sector organisations. It identifies the Director of Public Health as the key point of contact for the Council and outlines responsibilities, governance arrangements, and response processes across a variety of settings, including educational establishments, care settings, places of worship, temporary accommodation, workplaces, and community environments.

The plan forms part of the wider Health and Wellbeing Board assurance framework and is regularly reviewed to ensure it reflects current legislation, guidance, emerging risks, and lessons learned.
