Appeals

Information on appealing a building control decision.

If you request a relaxation or dispensation of one or more requirements of the building regulations and this request is refused by London Borough of Barking and Dagenham surveyors you have the right to appeal.

Initially this appeal should be made in writing to us.

This initial appeal will be considered and we will aim to respond within 5 working days of receiving an appeal.

If this initial appeal is refused, the person carrying out the building works may appeal against the local authority’s decision to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

Emails are monitored daily during the working week. If you need to talk to us sending a request for a call back from a member of the admin team or a surveyor is the best method.
