Help with Council Tax

If you struggling to pay your Council Tax, you may be eligible for Discretionary Council Tax relief. 

You may have recently experienced a bereavement, been through a divorce or been made redundant. Maybe you or someone in your household has recently been diagnosed with an illness or disability. Perhaps you are the victim of a crime such as theft or your property has been damaged by fire or flooding.

These are just some examples as to when an award of Discretionary Council Tax relief may be considered. Anyone can apply for this relief and each application is assessed completely on its own individual circumstances. 

Discretionary Council Tax relief is made from a separate fund with a limited budget. Discretionary Council Tax relief is a short-term measure to help those in difficult circumstances get back on track.
