How do I renew a blue badge?
If your Blue Badge is due to expire within 3 months, you will need to submit a new application via the portal.

I don’t live in a controlled parking. Can I park in the area using my blue badge?
Government issued Blue Badges can be used in all Boroughs inline with the ‘How to use your Blue Badge’ booklet provided with the badge.

I have not received my blue badge, what can I do?
Please email Mobility@lbbd.gov.uk or call 0208 227 2334 for an update.
If I have a blue badge, can I park anywhere?
Please refer to the guidelines in your ‘How to use your blue badge’ booklet.Local restrictions may apply but will be signposted.
What is the address to return an expired blue badge to?
There is no requirement to return an expired Blue Badge and it can be destroyed.
Why are blue badges not supplied after three years anymore?
Blue Badges are valid for up to three years but may be dependent on the disability being ‘enduring’ meaning the disability is not expected to improve to the extent that your would no longer be eligible for a badge within the next three years.
I am a blue badge holder; do I also need dropped kerb permit?
If you live in a Controlled Parking Zone and wish to park across your Dropped Kerb, you are required to purchase a Dropped Kerb waiver. Your Blue Badge is not permitted for this.
Where can I find the form for a virtual blue badge?
The courtesy Blue Badge can be applied for online at the following link. It is important to note that this is only valid for residents in a Controlled Parking Zone and does not replace the physical Blue Badge. More information can be found on our courtesy Blue Badge page.
Can I park in my nominated area all day with my virtual blue badge?
Yes, within the controlled parking zone where you reside.
I need a blue badge replacement

Where can I find the blue badge holders’ terms and conditions?
The Blue Badge Terms & Conditions are provided by the Government and can be found on their GOV.UK website. You will also have these in your ‘How to use a blue badge’ guide book.
Do I need to always show my blue badge?
This information can be found on the GOV.uk website however this is not exhaustive and local restrictions may apply.
How long does it take to get a decision on a blue badge application?
It can take up to 10 weeks to process your application.
My children are blue badge holders, can I get a parking permit fee exemption?
There is no permit fee exemption for any kind of permit, under any circumstances. Please refer to the terms and conditions of your blue badge for more information about where you can park, places you need to check before parking and places you cannot park.
