Investigating
The council may investigate reports of Anti-Social Behaviour this could be when:
- the person who is experiencing or causing the Anti-Social Behaviour is a council tenant
- If the Anti-Social Behaviour is happening in a public place.
- If both people involved in the situation live in private homes for example, privately renting or home-owners, the council might also investigate.
If the person who is experiencing or causing the Anti-Social Behaviour lives in a home that is managed by a different organisation that provides social housing (Registered Provider (RP) of Social Housing or housing association. Your housing provider will have the power to deal with the situation under different housing laws.
If the Anti-Social Behaviour is serious and involves someone breaking the law, you should call the police through 101 or 999 in an emergency. You can also report the crime through Crime Stoppers Anonymous.
