Please note: You cannot change the vehicle registration number on your permit. You must request a cancellation of your existing permit and apply for a new permit.  

To cancel your permit, please log in to your PermitSmarti account and select 'cancel permit'. Please allow up to 20 working days for any refunds due to be credited to you. If you have any queries please contact us on 0203 307 4967 or parking.permits@lbbd.gov.uk.

Apply for a resident parking permit

Having a resident permit does not give you School Streets exemptions. To apply for a School Streets exemption (separately) please see our School Streets exemption page.

Apply for visitor parking

If you live in a controlled parking zone (CPZ) you can buy permits online to allow your visitors to park.

Renew your resident parking permit

It is your responsibility to renew your permit within 21 days before the expiry of your permit. You may receive a reminder; please check your emails and your spam.

Temporary resident permit

If you have just bought a vehicle or have recently moved into a controlled parking zone, we'll issue a temporary resident permit

Motorcycle permits

Residents living in Controlled Parking Zones (CPZ) can purchase annual motorcycle Permits which is valid for borough-wide parking in CPZs and on-street parking locations.

All resident permits are valid for 1 year from the date of issue and are only valid for 1 vehicle.

For businesses based in controlled parking zones (CPZs) and businesses who provide boroughwide services

School Street exemptions

Residents living inside a School Street, school staff (where the carpark is only accessible from inside a School Street) and certain others can apply for an exemption permit for their vehicle

William Street Quarters permits

A resident parking permit is sold to eligible residents living within William Street Quarters

Permits for residents in car free developments

Commuters and residents can pay or subscribe for parking in our car parks using Permitsmarti.

Community and Healthcare Permits

Permits for residents who are providing key services in the borough

School staff and teachers permit

If you are a teacher or staff in a school within a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ), you can apply for a School Staff and Teachers Permit

Associate commuter permits

Associate commuter permits are available to people who work for partner organisations of the council

Disabled badge holder's permit

You can apply for a virtual disabled badge holder's permit if you hold a Blue Badge and live in a Controlled Parking Zone for a non-refundable fee of £15.00.

Apply for a dropped kerb waiver

If you live in a CPZ and have a dropped kerb you require a Dropped Kerb Waiver to park across your dropped kerb. You cannot park across your dropped kerb with any other permits or a Blue Badge/disabled badge holder's permit.
